Curtain Call #45- All good things must come to an end!!

Welcome back for another Curtain Call Colour Challenge, this week act 45 brings along a fabulous colour palette!! Again,  unfortunately here is Australia we don't have all the colours yet, this week I have subsituted Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi.

This week is the changing of the guards, so to speak, at Curtain Call!  The current Design Crew's final week, moving out for a new dynamic Design Crew and guest designer next week, including some very familiar names to wow you with their creativity moving forward!

I must say that the last 6 months have been very exciting for me (occasionally challenging!) , to be a part of something totally wonderful.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Design Crew, to work with and be inspired by some very talented ladies.  Without this opportunity I would not have met you all, not to mention finding Miss Chupa in my own backyard, it really goes to show how small the world is.  I will still be popping into see what you are all up to, I wish you well for the future, may your worlds grow bigger too!!
Stacey, The Design Crew, the guest Designers and all of you who have contributed to Curtain Call each week, I sincerely THANK YOU.

Congratulations to the new Design Crew, a fabulous and very inspiring group, I can't wait to see them in action on the Stage!

anyhoo, back to the task at hand- Act #45

If you would like to play along, head over to Stacey's Stamping Stage and link your creation in with Mr Linky! Stacey will be awarding one creation with "The Lead" and 5 creations for the "Top 5 show stopper", qualifying to adorn your blog with these stunning badges and share the news with all!!

I seem to have developed (or developing) an addiction to my Copic airbrush and compressor, I have airbrushed the centres of the flowers, the background and the wee nestie!
If you would like to make some of these easy peasy flowers you can check out the tutorial at Rebel Inker just fell in love with them when I 1st saw them- boy some people are SO clever!

The Recipe:

If you haven't played with us before, here is a rundown of what you can do to join in the fun.
Take what works best for you from the Maki's stunning creation (above): the layout, the colours, techniques, or whatever else, and use it on your sample. You may also like to CASE the whole look. In other words, your job is to show us, how Maki inspires YOU. There is no right or wrong it is just YOUR way!!
We would all love you to play along with us at CASE study again

CASE Study #2

Welcome back for another CASE study challenge!  Thank you for all your overwelming support with our debut last week, it was great to see all the stunning entries!!  All the entries took a different inspiration and elements  from Maki's design, hope you got the chance to have a look at them all too!  I am certainly glad that I don't have to choose the winner, it was a very difficult decision, way to go Iwona!!
Congratulations to all the winners, enjoy shopping for some gorgeous bits & bobs at Pixie Petals!

This week we have another of Maki's amazing designs to share with you, beautiful floral number!
For this weeks CASE I have taken the flowers and the big checked bow as my inspiration
Again I have tied this easy peazy bow using the tutorial put together by Amy. If you haven't given it a go yet, you can check it out here

The ribbon is from our sponsor of the week, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Bonnie has a sensational range of ribbon, the one on this card being - 1.5" Orange Gingham.
You will find Organza, Grosgrain, Gingham, Dots (Mmmmm), Stripes, RicRac, I think you get the drift, if you can think of it you can find it there!

This card was made for my special sister in law, her father recently passed away and it would have been his birthday yesterday.  I always call Gerbera's happy flowers (Thankfully my little friend Iwona had this set and generously let me give it a workout!) with their bright colours and big round face- perfect to make someone smile.  I stopped by the florist on the way and bought a matching bunch of the real thing- well nearly, the florist only had one yellow.  All was not lost, to see her face then I rocked up with my basket of goodies was well worth the effort!

Recipe:
Cardstock: Xpress it Blending cardstock, Stamper's select white (PTI), Tangerine Tango (SU)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: Flourishes- Gerbera Daisy, Asian Fusion (PTI)
Accessories: Sizzix Embossing folder- Hello Friend Set, mini rhinestones, 1.5" Orange Gingham ribbon, Top Note Sizzix die (SU), Copics, Making Memories Ribbon Slot Punch Tool.

What is the next step you ask.........The challenge will be, to take what works best for you from the Maki's stunning creation (above): the layout, the colours, techniques, or whatever else, and use it on your sample. You may also like to CASE the whole look. In other words, your job is to show us, how Maki inspires YOU.

We would all love you to play along with us at CASE study again

By playing along you will also have the opportunity to win a $10 certificate  (You can never have enough ribbon!!!!!) from our wonderful sponsor this week Bonnie from Really Reasonable Ribbon

The design team also has stunning creations they have whipped up, all have taken different inspiration from Maki's card!

Clean and Simple 103

I have finally managed to fit in some Christmas cards using the Clean and Simple 103 layout.  I was given a day off from work on Monday (I think it was granted due to hard labour!!) and decided to spend some time with my friend Ange and our crafty stuff!  With Robyn's Christmas Card Challenge in mind we set to work quite quickly to maximise our time!  I think I ended up making about 9 cards, taking my christmas card total to 19, I did use some of my UFO's (un- finished objects) from last year and one from quite a few years ago!
I will post them soon.   Here are a couple.

It's time, it's time........woohoo!!!

Welcome to the very 1st CASE study challenge!!
What an exciting time for Iwona the brains behind this unique challlenge,  all the girls on the design team and our Muse, who will be honoured over the next 4 weeks.
Bet you are dying to know who our muse for the month of August is...........................  the very very talented Makiko Jones has agreed to join us!!!!!!!
If you are looking for inspiration Maki's blog is a fabulous place to visit.
You have seen the sneak peak of the inspirational image for this week's challenge, now here is the full image... isn't is absolutely stunning!
With such a stunning card to use for inspiration there were so many elements that I could CASE!  To create my card I have used the nesties and the shading around them for my inspiration.  I tend to use round nesties with other round nesties, hoping outside my creative 'square' I have put round with labels, Maki has showed how they really work together even though they are different!  I also loved the subtle shading around the circle, so I pulled out the copic airbrush system and shaded.  I don't think I have have softness of Maki but I was still happy with the result!
I have also tied this easy peazy bow using the tutorial put together by Amy, why didn't I find this technique earlier- it is fool proof!!  You can check it out here

The recipe:
Cardstock: Regal rose, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Going Gray, Melon Mambo, X pressit blending cardstock
Paper: Polka dots from a large pack (can't remember the brand)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black
Image: Everyday Princess (Digi) from Tiddly Inks
Accessories: Copics, spica pens, Airbrush system, Nesties circles & labels 4, White satin ribbon,Kaiser Rhinestones, Scrapbook bitz rhinestones strip, Stickles

What is the next step you ask.........The challenge will be, to take what works best for you from the Maki's stunning creation (above): the layout, the colours, techniques, or whatever else, and use it on your sample. You may also like to CASE the whole look. In other words, your job is to show us, how Maki inspires YOU.

We would all love you to play along with us at CASE study!

By playing along you will also have the opportunity to win $10 worth of goodies from the wonderful AesaLina over at PixiePetals

I have seen what the design team has created and I am absolutely gob smacked with the stunning creations they have whipped up, all have taken different inspiration from Maki card.

Check them out.....

Drum Roll Please......................................

I am absolutely and utterly thrilled to be able to share my little secret with you!!!!!!!

The wonderful Iwona at Random Acts of Creativity has put together her own amazing challenge blog,
CASE study, and she has asked lil' old me to be a part of her fabulous design team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea behind this unique challenge would be to "learn from the masters", and by doing so, to pay tribute to the them and their inspirational work.

For each month, Iwona will choose a new Muse (Someone very very inspiring), then four of her cards (or other projects) will be chosen to showcase her talent and uniqueness . These will be the themes of the four weekly challenges for that month.  The wonderful Design team will provide you with their take on what inspired them from the 'Muse's' card and then of course you can play along too.

There will be prizes, PixiePetals has agreed to sponsor the challenge every week!

Check out our very talented design team:

Amy Wanford
Andrea Ewen
Carole Kisch
Cindy Lee
Iwona
Lenet Mos
Teneale Williams

Here is a sneak peak of what you will find when you visit on the 12th!

Isn't it beautiful!!!  Be back on the 12th to see the creation in its entirety
