Hello fellow crafty people, back again with another post for La-La Land Inspiration Friday
Thank you for all you wonderful support and messages of congratulations on this new venture, they all mean so much to me!
On to our inspiration for this week, to make 'Anything but a card'
My 'Anything but a card' is a pen/pencil holder, featuring the adorable Marci with flower, I keep this on my desk to store the markers I have used in a project, so that later when I write up the post I have them all sitting close at hand!
I have also taken inspiration from JayGee's Nook Challenge #11
I purchased a tin money box from the local $2 shop, cut the top off with a can opener, making sure all the edges were smooth. Then added a strip of the yellow floral Echo park paper, added the fence, the grass and finally a coloured and cut out Marci, sticking all of these on with a little modge podge.
The last bit of the process was to coat the entire outside of the decorated tin with 5 layers of Mod Podge, leaving about 30mins between each coat- not something you can just whip up with an hours notice.
but well worth all the time! nearly forgot, I also added some copic coloured rhinestones, white rick rack, twine and a button (well the button was necessary to cover up a boo boo-lol!)
I also added a strip of paper to the inside of the tin and a nestie circle to finish it all off!
Remember you can participate in our Inspiration Challenges too, by linking up to our Customer Gallery! - that's where they found me, come one give it a whirl!
Hope you can play along with us
